Meet Aimee, a primary school teacher & mum.

At just 31, Aimee's life changed in an instant. A primary school relief teacher and mother of two, she discovered a hard lump in her breast during a routine self-check in late 2024. Days later, her fears were confirmed when she was diagnosed with stage 2B ER/PR breast cancer.

"The whirlwind of appointments began immediately," Aimee recalls.

Her greatest motivation was her family. "My priority was to live a long, healthy life so I could watch my children grow up," she says. In April 2025, Aimee made the brave decision to undergo a double mastectomy, giving herself the best chance at recovery.

Meet Rochelle, a young and talented nuclear medicine scientist.

Since embarking on her medical career six years ago, Rochelle has assisted in the diagnosis and treatment of countless cancer patients through her work at Sydney's Prince of Wales Hospital She had seen almost every scenario play out before her eyes, in the complex area of the diagnosis and treatment of disease. But the one she least expected was becoming a cancer patient herself.
