Meet Katherine.
As a child, one of Katherine’s first adventures was to set to sea for 10 months in her parent’s yacht, sailing the Pacific from New Zealand to land and settle in Australia.
After leaving school she joined the Australian military (ADF) and after 10 years of service left to study nursing, building a career in paediatric (child) emergency medicine.
When she discovered a small lump, her last thought was cancer.

“When I went to have my ultrasound to check my lump, I told my partner that he didn’t need to come because nothing was going to come from the scan, but he insisted on coming anyway. Thank goodness he did because when the mammogram was done, they were like “Hmm, I think we need to go straight for a core biopsy.”
