Volunteer Today: CanCare Navigators

We are now recruiting volunteers for the rewarding role of CanCare Navigator in the St George and Sutherland area.

Volunteer to become a CanCare Navigator today. Our Volunteer Training is conducted over two days with the next intake Thursday 23rd and followup Thursday 30th November, at Mortdale RSL.

 

Join our small team of volunteers working to support people with cancer. In this role you can volunteer at a time and place that is convenient for you and the person you are supporting. It’s a rewarding experience where your support, often for just a few hours a week can make real difference. You will learn how to find and use community services and better understand the healthcare system. Navigator’s ‘walk alongside’ a person with cancer, providing support such as:

  • Regular contact and practical help
  • Finding transport to or from treatment
  • Arranging child care, elderly care, or pet care
  • Connecting to support groups and social outings
  • Checking-in, to make sure everything is OK
